Where do the pieces of a broken heart go?
Do they swim through arteries or evaporate through pores?
One way is kept out of sight but lives forever within
The other is expelled and breathed into the vacant sky
Although I choose to let them go, some jagged shards remain
Piercing my lungs and leaving me gasping for air
Love you ❤️🙏🏻

Love you, Dee!
This is stunning, friend. I think I know these jagged shards; I’ve written of my own sort. In my case, they’re scattered, broken memories of dark and painful moments. Mirrored shards, they reflect a kaleidoscopic chaos sometimes external, always internal. You and I will see those shards lie down…dissolved, harmless, representing nothing like eternal truth that will define us then. Love you.
Thanks, Laurie. Love you, too.
