Jesus is the Light of the World

Yet a servant is not above his master

Dark days will come

With clouds

Of sickness

Of sorrow

Of separation

Without rhyme or reason

No cause and effect to be seen

And for a time

Maybe a time upon time

I will strain my eyes

Look through the clouds

And wait

To see the light

Beautiful. This reminds me of the time I was sitting by the window on a flight to the beach. It was a splurge to fly rather than drive and we were so excited. It was cloudy and raining as we took off so my view below was obstructed. I couldn’t see anything but dark clouds above and below. But as we ascended up, up, up we broke through those clouds and there was the sun shining so brightly. It was such a vivid picture of there being light and beauty beyond that heavy, oppressive ceiling of darkness.
Psalm 139 reminds us-Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence. If I go up the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn or settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

“He will hold me fast; He will hold me fast. For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.”

    You are loved.
